I think I may have had the longest day at work today. x_x Normally there are one or two people that come in and are a little rude, but I’ve never actually had someone tell me to my face that I’m a bad employee. Sorry for doing my job, ma’am.
But then that’s what I keep telling myself, that this is only a job. And a part-time job at that, so I just keep doing what I’m doing. Plus, payday always makes the day a little bit better.
I don’t think I’ve talked about it yet, but I’m going on a mission trip with my youth group at church to Huntsville, Alabama. Down there we’ll be doing construction on houses that were hit by the tornadoes, but mainly we’ll be doing roofing. This is my sixth year going, not specifically to Alabama but on the mission trips, and I’m excited to be working on a roof. Every year I’ve always been on a painting site, which is fine, but it’s nice to change it up every now and then.
I remember two years ago there was one site that had painting and the rest were roofs. I got that painting job. But it’s not about me, so it doesn’t really matter!
We’re leaving tomorrow (or I guess technically today – it is 12:17 AM :P) and I’m still not done packing. I hate packing. Well, I’m mostly done. They packed the trailer with all of our suitcases tonight so I had to be done with my big suitcase by three before I went to work. My parents took it up for me; they’re so sweet.
So I just have some minor stuff to pack still. Things to do on the car ride (book, iPod, pillow, blanket) and things that I had forgotten (like shoes! Who forgets shoes!).
We’re leaving at 4:30 AM – which is absolutely too early. Some nights I’m not even in bed by then. x_x I’m hoping to get some sleep while I’m on the bus, but some of the middle school girls going on the trip I think don’t know what the word silent means.
I’ll be gone for a week, in which I most likely won’t have internet access. So when I come back I’ll have to tell you all about my trip! Just a small update to let you all know why I’ve temporarily disappeared.
